Dear HCCUA Members:

As we enter some uncertain times globally and with the ongoing events in response to the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), we would like to assure our members that we are here to help you any way possible. It is natural to have feelings of uncertainty during this time of prevention and adjustments. Rest assured that we will get through this and come back stronger than ever! That being said, it is vital that we take proper precautions towards COVID-19 and most importantly listen to advisories we must follow.

Our top priority is to help keep our HCCUA members on track and remind you of the extensive benefits at your fingertips that can assist you in staying healthy. Keep in mind the services we offer to minimize your exposure with your access to physicians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year through Telehealth without having to leave the comfort of your home. In addition to, the numerous discounts in prescriptions that can definitely make your life easier by bringing your medications right to your door step!

Due to this national emergency and likely quarantine, you should try healthy eating by consuming foods that may boost your immune system and foods that can help you heal in that event that you do get sick with a common cold. Don’t forget to continually wash your hands and cough or sneeze into your inner elbow. In addition, we cannot stress enough the importance of getting a full nights rest, eating a well-balanced diet, taking daily vitamins, exercising regularly, decreasing stress levels and cutting back on unhealthy habits such as smoking and over consuming alcohol. These all play a role in staying healthy.

You would be surprised how important exercise is to maintaining good health. Being an active person can boost your mood and improve your life in multiple ways. By taking 30 to 45 minutes a day, every day, you can stay healthier, feel better about yourself and loose or maintain a healthy weight. Now is a time to bond to with your family or get to know your personal limits a by doing activities such as yoga, riding bike, home exercise videos. The options are endless!

It is also important to plan your meals in advance so you can regulate your calorie intake and watch your diet.
