Dear HCCUA Members:
Ones opinion of oneself is incredibly important to living a successful and happy life. Self-confidence is not only for days that you are preparing for an interview, going out on a first date or giving a presentation. It is a part of our lives on a daily basis. Being a self-confident person will help you enhance your relationship(s) at home and at work, your decision making, and lend a hand to living a better life! Self-confidence makes you accept yourself such that you feel secure about your individuality and can help you achieve just about anything!
At times, life can bring us down because of lockdowns, troubles around the globe, stress, troubles in the work place or at home and/ or daily decisions one must make in life as a person or parent. Confidence is what equips us to face the tough and unpleasant times and allows pleasure when living easy. Always have faith that even if you cannot deal with a problem yourself that you will have the ingenuity to get help, skills, or the knowledge you need to overcome whatever you face.
Two of the top reasons why people’s self-esteem declines is initiated from getting out of a relationship, marriage or losing a job. It is normal to feel hurt, vulnerable, or angry when something like this occurs. You can get through a tough time by taking care of yourself, reaching out to others and taking this opportunity to rethink your goals and rediscover what truly makes you happy. If you find yourself in a situation like this, here are a few tips to boost your confidence: recognize and embrace your positive qualities; acknowledge that you are a desirable package rather than any one individual item; trust that you are competent; believe in your worth; and take into account, we are not defined by any one thing but by the accumulation of our experiences.
In addition, the majority of job openings are never advertised; they are filled by word of mouth. This is why networking is one of the best ways to find a job. Take into consideration you are entitled to profit from the benefit Career Defender offered to you under your HCCUA membership. Career Defender helps people that are unemployed access an online resume builder, nationwide job search, US employment data and Facebook/ Twitter resume creator.
In the HCCUA e-Newsletter for this month, please take a look at the article The Pivotal Employee which will give you a helpful insight on what is expected of a successful employee in any work environment. Furthermore, we have attached a twist to the traditional burrito with a Skinny Burrito Bowl recipe from Delish.com. Try it and let us know which you prefer!
